OLNEY, Md. — Residents in an Olney neighborhood could be without water for several hours due to a large water main break. The break was first reported around 6:30 a.m. in the area of 19204 Willow Grove Road. That's near Rosa M Parks Middle School.
Montgomery County Police say Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) Water workers are on scene working on repairs. Willow Grove Road will be closed from Olney Mill to Bloomfield for approximately eight or nine hours while repairs are made.
According to authorities, "some residents will be without water," but it is not clear how many people will be impacted by the water shutoff.
The cause of the water main break is still under investigation. No other details have been made public. We will update this story as we learn more.
