WASHINGTON — The Washington Commanders announced several roster changes Tuesday, including the release of defensive end Jamin Davis.
Davis was the 19th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft and appeared in 50 games, with 36 starts during his four-year tenure with the team.
In his time with the Commanders, he recorded more the 280 tackles, 10 quarterback hits and seven sacks and two forced fumbles. He originally aimed to be a middle linebacker but was moved outside, early in his career by former Commanders head coach Ron Rivera.
With Davis' release, Cornerback Emmanuel Forbes is now the lone remaining first-round pick on the Commanders' roster from the Ron Rivera era.
As Davis departs, the Commanders now have an open spot on their 53-man roster.
