Prince George's County officer suspended with pay after arrest in Laurel

LAUREL, Md. — A Prince George's County police officer has been suspended with pay following his arrest in Laurel early Tuesday morning. 

According to the department, Corporal Robert Harvin III was charged with second-degree assault stemming from what police called "a domestic incident." He was arrested shortly after midnight. Additional details about the arrest have not been made public.

Police say Harvin has been with the department since 2016. He was off duty when he was taken into custody.
