PASADENA, Md. — The Anne Arundel Police Department released body-worn camera footage of the moment an officer shot a 60-year-old woman in March.

According to Anne Arundel Police, officers were called to a home on Gambier Harbour on March 28 for a wellness check. During the investigation, officers learned the woman was reportedly armed and had shot and killed her cat.

Video of the shooting was released Monday. The nearly 9.5-minute video starts off with the officers talking near a patrol car. A short time later, the officer walks towards the front of the home and you can hear police over a loudspeaker telling the woman to open the door.

"Come outside with your hands up," an officer can be heard saying over a loudspeaker.

The woman comes outside and the officer says she has a gun then repeatedly tells her to drop it before multiple gunshots are fired at the woman.

The body-worn camera video then shows the officers rushing toward the woman as she appears to try to go back inside the home. The officer grabs her by the robe as she screams and falls to the floor.

Officers immediately enter the home, some searching the house while others tend to the woman. Another officer's body-worn camera video shows the woman being handcuffed as officers call for Fire and EMS crews to come inside.

The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The officers who shot the woman have been identified as Corporal J. Glossner Jr., an 8-year veteran; Police Officer First Class M. Spates, a 4-year veteran; Officer C. Dixon, a 6-month veteran; and Corporal D. Holquist, an 18.5-year veteran. The officers are all assigned to the Bureau of Patrol.

In March, the police department announced the officers would be placed on administrative leave pending review by the Office of Professional Standards.
