WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A teen is facing charges after allegedly bringing a weapon to a Woodbridge high school Monday morning.
The 16-year-old student was found with metal knuckles at Freedom High School and charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, according to a statement from the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD).
A School Resource Officer (SRO) was notified of the incident at 7:30 a.m. and found no threat to students, faculty or staff, according to the PWCPD. The Woodbridge student was arrested, and the court date is pending in juvenile court.
According to the Code of Virginia 18.2-308.1, possession of a firearm, stun weapon or other weapon on school property is a Class 1 misdemeanor.
