TRIANGLE, Va. — A man was killed in a Prince William County shooting in November 2023, and now police are increasing the reward for the person accused of the crime.
Investigators with the Prince William County Police Department announced Wednesday the reward increase being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible. Originally it was set at $5,000, but now it is $10,000.
On the night of Nov. 14, a homicide investigation began after 26-year-old Quatrail Raynard Smalls was shot and killed on Wharf Lane, off of Graham Park Road, in Triangle. When police arrived at the scene he was found suffering from injuries on the ground, was then taken to the hospital for treatment, but he later died.
Through the investigation, 27-year-old Tyus James Terrell was identified as the shooter in the crime later in November, but, even with arrest warrants for him, police have been unable to locate him.
Terrell, of Fredericksburg, has been described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He also has a tattoo on his chest.
He is wanted for murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the police department.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
