WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Virginia officers responded to a residence in the 13400 block of Greenacre Drive Monday night after a concerned neighbor contacted police saying a child claimed his mother wouldn’t wake up.
First responders had to force their way into the home after knocks went unanswered. Once inside, they found the mom awake, and illegal narcotics near the child, who according to first responders looked unharmed. Despite the initial appearance, fire and rescue say the 4-year-old boy was in poor living conditions.
The child’s mother has been identified as 26-year-old Gillian Nicolette Singstock. Following an investigation, Singstock was arrested for felony child neglect and possession of illegal narcotics. The child was placed with a guardian to ensure their safety and well-being.
Singstock remains in custody with her bail set at $8,000. A court date has not been set.
