FAIRFAX, Va. — Fairfax County detectives are searching for additional victims who may have been sexually assaulted by a man allegedly posing as a rideshare driver.
A victim told police she was leaving the Dupont Circle area in D.C. on New Year’s Day when a man offered to drive her home. The man, now identified as, 39-year-old Mohannad Yousef Abura, drove the victim to a park in Lorton, Virginia and sexually assaulted her inside of a blue Volkswagen Jetta.
Through the detectives investigation it was determined there could be more victims and police are seeking information from the community.
Abura has since been arrested and charged with Rape and Abduction with Intent to Defile. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
Fairfax County detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this sexual assault or who may have had unlawful contact with Abura to call the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can call 1-866-411-TIPS.
