One dead and two arrested while attempting to rob people in Fairfax County

Adult male was suffering from gunshot wounds on the upper body. Parties seem to know each other.

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, Va. — Police responded, around 2:02 a.m., Friday May 17 to a shooting call at the 6000 block of Argyle Drive. Officers found  21-year-old Alder Perez Argueta suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. 

Subsequently, the victim was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead. Police stated the parties may have known each other. This was the initial alert Police released Friday morning:

The Suspects

Police indicated two people were arrested. Angel Romero Perez, 20, (picture below) of Bailey’s Crossroads, was charged with Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

Candido Perez Argueta, 25, of Bailey’s Crossroads as well, (picture below) was charged with Robbery Resulting in Death and Gang Participation.

Both individuals are being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond, said police.

Background

While the investigation is still ongoing, preliminary findings suggest the victim, Alder Perez Argueta, was with both suspects when they "attempted to rob two other people."

Police determined that during the robbery, the victim was shot on the upper body. As of now, authorities have enough evidence to believe this is an isolated incident.
