STERLING, Va. — Loudoun County Sheriff's Office investigators said they have arrested a man in connection to a shooting in the parking lot of a Sterling shopping center that sent one person to the hospital. Deputies said they are searching for more people involved.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. at the Dulles 28 Centre in the 22000 block of Dulles Retail Plaza Monday evening.
A spokesperson with the law enforcement agency told WUSA9 that a man was shot outside the back door of the Milk & Honey restaurant.
"I'm super surprised. I wouldn't expect this to happen here," said David Wehar, who works at a restaurant nearby.
The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition, according to deputies.
On Thursday, investigators arrested Richard L. Edmundson, 35, in connection to the shooting. Edmundson was charged with Malicious Wounding and transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on no bond.
Deputies said Edmundson was not the only one involved in this shooting, and the investigation is still active. They ask anyone who may have more information to contact Detective Grimsley, or Loudoun County Crime Solvers, at 703-777-1919.
