Surveillance footage released in Prince George's County deadly shooting

Investigators are asking for the community to watch the surveillance video and provide any information that could help solve the 44-year-old's murder.

HYATTSVILLE, Md. — Police in Prince George's County are trying to locate the suspect(s) in connection with the deadly shooting of a man that happened in October. To aid the investigation, they have released surveillance footage that captured the vehicle involved in hopes that the public will be able to help.

Just after 10 p.m. on Oct. 19, Prince George's County Police Department officers responded to 52nd Avenue, off of Kenilworth Avenue, in Hyattsville after a report of a shooting in the area.

Upon arrival, they found 44-year-old Kevin Paul, of Silver Spring, outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but died due to his injuries a short time later.

On Wednesday, the police department released surveillance video of the shooting. In the footage, the suspect(s) is seen driving down 52nd Avenue in a dark-colored sedan, which is believed to be a newer-model Toyota Corolla.

The driver then turns around, turns off the car’s headlights and then parks. A person then gets out of the car and fires multiple rounds -- striking the victim -- before fleeing the area.

Investigators are asking for the community to watch the video and provide any information that could help solve Paul's murder. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
