STERLING, Va. — A firefighter is on his way home after being released from the hospital on Tuesday.
Firefighter Steven Keesler was one of ten first responders injured after a deadly house explosion in Sterling on Friday.
Two firefighters remain hospitalized in the burn unit as a result of the injuries they sustained from the blast.
WUSA9's Matthew Torres was outside the hospital as Keesler was released. The firefighter was seen surrounded by several other Loudon County first responders as he was released.
In addition to the ten firefighters injured, two civilians were also hurt in the explosion and one firefighter has died.
A funeral is schedule to be held on Monday, March 4 at 11 a.m. for fallen volunteer Firefighter Trevor Brown.
He leaves behind a wife and three children.
