2 injured in Woodbridge townhome fire

Building officials say three townhomes are unsafe to reenter.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A firefighter and another person were injured as a result of a townhome fire in Woodbridge Tuesday evening. Both are expected to be OK.

The fire displaced four people, two of which are getting help from the Red Cross. 

Late Tuesday evening, firefighters with Prince William County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a report of a townhouse fire on Old Post Terrace in Woodbridge. Crews arrived to find fire and smoke coming from the home. Someone inside the townhome was alerted to the flames by a smoke detector and the two people inside were able to safely get out of the home. 

One firefighter was treated at the home for injuries and another person was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.

Building officials say a total of three townhomes were impacted and are currently unsafe to reenter. Two are unsafe due to fire damage and a third due to water damage. Four adults were displaced, including two who are getting help from the Red Cross.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
