Police stop accused credit card thieves' shopping spree

During the time of the arrest, the men were in possession of 44 stolen checks and 29 stolen credit cards.

MCLEAN, Va. — Three Maryland men were arrested and face multiple counts of credit card theft after allegedly racking up $8,000 worth of charges at a Virginia Neiman Marcus.

On Monday, the detectives from the Tysons Urban Team received a call from the loss prevention team at Saks Fifth Avenue around 4:45 p.m. of a three-man crew actively involved in a credit card fraud. 

Officers from the McLean Police District arrived at the store within minutes, where they found the men with bags from Neiman Marcus containing three Moncler puffer coats and other goods. 

Through a preliminary investigation, detectives say they uncovered the thieves made purchases for more than $8,000 at Neiman Marcus. During the time of the arrest, the men were in possession of 44 stolen checks and 29 stolen credit cards. 

21-year-olds, Vernon Lee Brown III and Jaylin Oliver and 25-year-old Jaylin Oliver were charged with Larceny of Bank Checks, Credit Card Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Wearing Mask in Public to Conceal Identity, Obstruction of Justice, and Receive Stolen Property.
