FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police say a man is in custody after stealing well over $38,000 worth of items from a Macy's in Virginia.
At 2:13 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a Macy's department store at 8000 Tysons Corner Center after a burglary alarm went off. The alarm was heard by a nearby community member who told police that he saw a man pushing a cart filled with merchandise away from the store, which prompted him to call police.
At the scene, officers discovered a broken window where someone had made their way into the store. A K9 officer and his partner began tracking a nearby wood-line where several bags of stolen merchandise were recovered, totaling $38,787 worth of clothing and accessories.
After further investigation, police identified Cedric Murrel Milton, 47, of Bealeton as the suspect in this burglary. He is charged with two counts of Grand Larceny, two counts of Larceny with Intent to Sell, two counts of Possession of Schedule I or II Drugs, False I.D. to Law Enforcement, Burglary, Credit Card Theft, Destruction of Property, and Possession of Burglarious Tools. Milton was also served with outstanding warrants from Fairfax County, Prince William County and Henrico County.
