TOWSON, Md. — Maryland State Police released a statement that informed the community about the murder charges of a Baltimore male linked to a highway shooting in Howard County, Maryland.
Quwan Gordon, 48, of Owings Mills, Maryland, is currently charged with attempted murder, use of a gun in the commission of a felony, and other related offenses.
Maryland State Police declared Gordon was arrested on the morning of August 13, 2024, at his Baltimore County house on related gun and drug charges without incident.
On August 12, 2024, at around 1:30 p.m., Waterloo Barrack Troppers responded to a report of a shooting on I-95 in Howard County. The incident occurred on Northbound I-95 at 44 MM. On the scene, the victims told police they were shot in a "road rage" altercation with the driver of a white Volkswagen.
Police subsequently inspected the scene and found the victim's car was shot through the passenger compartment. They recovered the projectiles as shown below:
It is worth mentioning that the police clarified that the victims "were uninjured during this incident."
After a thorough investigation, detectives identified and located the white Volkswagen as well as the driver (Gorgon), and in due diligence, search warrants were served on Gordon's car and house in Owings Mills. The mentioned warrant search resulted in the seizure of felony amounts of "suspected MDMA, fentanyl, and a loaded gun."
Those findings alerted the authorities, which also found that the 48-year-old man was prohibited from possessing firearms based on previous felony convictions. After the inspection, police initially charged Gordon with gun and drug violations.
Once police gathered substantial elements, they determined Gordon was linked to the highway shooting on August 12 in Howard County.
In collaboration with the Howard County State's Attorney's Office, Gordon was charged on Friday with attempted murder and related offenses. The accused is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Maryland State Police exacerbates the message to avoid "impaired, aggressive, and distracted driving while obeying the speed limit to prevent injuries and fatalities" on the state's roadways.
