Missing American University student found safe

The 19-year-old student was last seen Thursday around 4:30 p.m. near Wagshal's grocery store in NW, DC.

WASHINGTON — A 19-year-old student at American University who had been reported missing by his roommate has been located safe, the University told WUSA9 on Monday.

In an Instagram post Sunday, the student's roommate said he was last seen in person near Wagshal’s grocery store on New Mexico Avenue NW around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. His last reported location was in Rockville, Maryland on that same day one hour prior.

"We do not know where is, who he is with, or where he would be," the post said.
