Video surfaces showing teacher allowing students to fight inside classroom

In a separate incident at the school on the same day, one staff member assaulted another staff member.

WALDORF, Md. — There are two separate violent incidents currently under investigation at a Charles County middle school.

On March 15, school administrators were made aware of the first incident. A video recording had surfaced showing a fight between two students inside a classroom at Davis Middle School. The video appears to show a teacher allowing the students to fight while classmates watched, and other students clearing furniture to create space for the fight. The students involved in the fight were eventually separated by other students.

Over the weekend, officers became aware of the video circulating and initiated an investigation. The Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office will be consulted regarding criminal charges.

In a separate incident at the school on the same day, one staff member reportedly aggressively approached another staff member and assaulted them before being restrained by a third staff member.

Police are actively investigating both incidents. Anyone with information is asked to contact PFC Miedzinski at 301-609-3282 ext. 0668.
