Man wanted for voyeurism incident at dorm bathroom in University of Maryland

Police say he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and light-colored jeans at the time of the incident.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Police are searching for a man accused of watching a woman in the shower at a University of Maryland dorm Monday afternoon.

Officers with the University of Maryland Police Department responded to Hagerstown Hall, on Hagerstown Lane in College Park, just after 1:30 p.m. after a report of a voyeur incident. The reported crime happened just 10 minutes earlier.

The woman, a student of the university, reported to police that she was inside a bathroom when she noticed a cell phone peering over the shower curtain. She then yelled, resulting in the unidentified man leaving the bathroom. Police say he exited through the stairwell.

The person of interest in the case has been described as a man, who was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and light-colored jeans at the time this took place.

The University of Maryland Police Department, Criminal Investigations Unit is actively investigating.
