DERWOOD, Md. — A fire in Montgomery County Sunday afternoon was captured by these images shared by Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer.
The fire started outside in a large pile of scrap metal at the Montgomery County Shady Grove Transfer Station and Recycling Center. There were no injuries from the fire, and Piringer shared that it was contained by using heavy equipment to separate and douse the flames. Authorities have not said exactly what led to the fire starting.
