16-year-old boy shot dead in Upper Marlboro; police investigating

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — A 16-year-old boy is dead after he was shot Saturday afternoon in Upper Marlboro, Prince George's County Police Department said.

Around 4:30 p.m. police responded to the reported shooting at the intersection of Ascott Drive and Clirieden Lane. 

At the scene, officers found a teen boy, identified as 16-year-old Quincy Barnes of Upper Marlboro, who had been shot in the upper body. Police said Barnes' brother brought him to the location after realizing he had been shot. Barnes was unresponsive and transported to a local hospital, police said.

Barnes was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was pronounced dead shortly after, police said.

An investigation revealed that Barnes had been shot at a nearby location in the 13500 block of Fenway Lane.

Police are still working to locate witnesses, suspects. and a motive in this incident.
