Teens arrested for armed burglary in Gainesville, police say

Police say four boys entered an apartment and pointed a gun towards the residents.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — On November 4 some residents of the Somerhill Farms Apartment were met with a gun pointed at them after four boys entered their apartment. A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old have been arrested in connection to the incident. 

The Prince William County Police Department said that they are looking for four juveniles who were allegedly involved in the home invasion in the 7300 block of Yountville Dr in Gainesville. 

While police investigated, they found that four boys entered an apartment and pointed a firearm towards the residents. During this, there was a brief argument between the victims and the suspects before the suspects went into one of the bedrooms. The four suspects took several items before leaving a car. Police say no injuries were reported.

On November 5, detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit received information identifying one of the suspects as a 16-year-old boywho was taken into custody later that evening.

While police were investigating, detectives identified and obtained a detention order for a second suspect, identified as a 15-year-old boy who was located and taken into custody by members of the Manassas Park Police.

Both the 15-year-old and 16-year-old boys face multiple charges. The 16-year-old has been charged with burglary while armed, possession of a firearm by a juvenile, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His next case is pending and he is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.

The case remains active as detectives seek to identify the two additional suspects.
