Police search for truck involved in deadly Takoma Park hit and run

A 42-year-old man from Takoma Park was hit and killed earlier this month.

TAKOMA PARK, Md. — Montgomery County police are continuing to investigate a fatal hit-and-run in Takoma Park. Police are now asking for the public's help to find the vehicle involved.

On June 3, police and fire rescue responded to the 1100 block of University Boulevard East for a man lying in the street with head injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Candido Noe Rojas Rojas, 42, of Takoma Park. An autopsy determined that the injuries Rojas sustained were likely caused by a vehicle.

The investigation determined that the vehicle was headed westbound when the driver hit the Rojas and left the scene on Lebanon Street.

Investigators reviewed video footage from the crash scene and shared an image of the wanted vehicle.
