Man riding scooter hit and killed on Greenbelt Rd

The initial investigation revealed the pedestrian was riding an electric scooter in the road when he was hit by a car.

GREENBELT, Md. — The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that happened in Greenbelt.

On Tuesday evening officers responded to the 7500 block of Greenbelt Road, near Hanover Parkway for a collision involving a pedestrian. 

The initial investigation revealed the pedestrian was riding a scooter on the road when he was hit by a car. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car stayed and was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

At this time Prince George’s County Police are working to investigate the cause of the crash. The identity of the victim has not been released as the investigation is ongoing. 

Prince George’s County Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
