Raw Video: Car hits Prince George's County police officer directing traffic at separate multi-vehicle crash

A multi-vehicle crash happened around 5:30 a.m. I-97 and Muirkirk Road in Laurel.

LAUREL, Md. — A Prince George’s County police officer was injured after he was struck by a vehicle after responding to a separate multi-vehicle crash at an intersection along Interstate 97.

A multivehicle crash happened around 5:30 a.m. I-97 and Muirkirk Road in Laurel.

Plenty of police were at the scene directing traffic. One officer was directing drivers when he was struck at the scene. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver who struck the officer stayed at the scene.
