Pedestrian struck, killed by driver in Clinton

While investigating the collision, Branch Avenue lanes were temporarily closed

FORESTVILLE, Md. — Authorities are investigating after a crash left a pedestrian dead Sunday night in Prince George's County.

Troopers with the Maryland State Police, from the Forestville Barrack, responded to northbound Branch Avenue area at Woodyard Road in Clinton, around 9:25 p.m. after receiving a call about a pedestrian being struck. Upon arrival at the scene, they located the pedestrian that was struck on the southbound lanes of Branch Avenue.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by officials. No information has been released about the identity of the pedestrian in the case, this includes their name, age, and where they are from.

While investigating the collision, both north and southbound lanes of Branch Avenue were temporarily closed.

The State Police have not released any information about the driver of the vehicle at this time, this includes if they stayed at the scene of the crash or if there is a lookout for the person of interest or vehicle.
