Police identify woman hit by cars and killed along Veirs Mill Road

The woman killed has since been identified as 70-year-old Teresa Moreno De Mejia.

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Veirs Mill Road is currently closed between Atlantic Avenue and Meadow Hall Drive following a fatal crash.

Montgomery County Police are investigating the fatal pedestrian collision on Tuesday just before 7 p.m.

Rockville Police were called to the 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road for a report of a collision. When they arrived they found a woman lying in the crossing, she was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was crossing Veirs Mill Road at Atlantic Avenue when she was hit by two cars. Police were looking for a third car at one point but later determined the woman was only hit by the two cars.  

The drivers of the two cars remained on the scene. 

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are attempting to locate the third possible vehicle that was in the area at the time of the collision. 

The woman killed has since been identified as 70-year-old Teresa Moreno De Mejia.
