Motorcyclist killed in crash in Fort Washington

Prince George's County police say the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. — A man is dead after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Indian Head Highway in Fort Washington on Saturday morning. 

Detectives with the Prince George's County Police Department were called to the area near Old Fort Road around 10:50 a.m. 

Once on scene, investigators were able to determine the SUV and motorcycle were both traveling north on Indian Head Highway when they collided with each other. The impact threw the operator of the motorcycle onto the roadway. 

The man on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. 

Investigators are still on the scene reconstructing the crash to determine the circumstances that lead up to the collision. 

At this time the motorcyclist has not been identified and there is no information on any other injuries. 

Northbound Indian Head Hwy (MD 210) at Old Fort Road has re-opened.
