A 41-year-old man riding on an ATV briefly collided with a motorcycle rider, who drove away from the scene. The ATV driver died, and his child passenger was injured.

MARYLAND, USA — Prince George's County Police are searching for a motorcyle driver who allegedly drove away from the scene of a fatal crash Friday night

Officers were sent to the intersection of Woodyard Road and Sherwood Drive in Rosaryville just before 9 p.m. for a reported crash. When they arrived they found a man who had been driving an ATV dead, and a child injured.

The man killed was identified as 41-year-old Michael Kelly. Police said the child was riding with Kelly at the time of the collision. The child was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

A preliminary investigation found that Kelly was driving northbound on Woodyard Road and the driver of the motorcycle was traveling southbound. For reasons unknown, the two collided causing Kelly to lose control of the ATV. Officers say after the motorcycle collided with an ATV, the driver kept going.
