Maryland State Police investigate fatal crash in Frederick County

Police are investigating the events that led up to the crash.

FREDERICK, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Frederick County Tuesday.

Troopers responded to Maryland Route 491 just after 7:35 a.m. for reports of a crash involving a tractor-trailer. The driver of the vehicle and sole occupant was pronounced dead at the scene by Frederick County first responders.

The driver has since been identified as Daniel Edward Ryan of Ridgeley, West Virginia. Police are investigating the events that led up to the crash.
