Pedestrian crash in Prince George's County leaves man dead

Officers from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Old Fort Road around 1 a.m.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A man in Prince George's Co. is dead after he was struck by a car on Indian Head Highway.

Officers from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Old Fort Road around 1 a.m. and found a man on the road. Police said the man was pronounced dead on the scene and the striking car remained on the scene.

The man was identified Monday as 24-year-old Austin McCollum of Chesapeake Beach. 

Officials have not provided any additional information about this case.

Police are still searching for the driver who hit a woman, her son, their dog and drove off.
