BOWIE, Md. — A man has been arrested in connection with two separate shootings in Bowie, while on release and awaiting trial for a homicide he is also suspected of committing in D.C.
On Wednesday, Prince George’s County Police were dispatched to a home along Twisting Lane. Witnesses say a man fired several rounds into the home. Reports say several people were inside the home during the time of the shooting, including a four-month-old baby. Fortunately, no one was injured.
During a preliminary investigation, officers identified 20-year-old Gerald Andre Thomas as the primary suspect in the shooting. Over in Bladensburg, police were investigating a shooting that had taken place 30 minutes prior. They believe Thomas was responsible for that shooting as well. Both shootings are believed to be domestic incidents.
On Wednesday, law enforcement arrested Thomas, during this time he gave a statement connecting him to both shootings.
Thomas was arrested and charged with second-degree murder back in 2022 for the death of Dasha Cleary. In February 2022, Thomas opened fire inside a Days Inn Motel room, injuring three women and two men. The three women were transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Cleary passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.
