Man dies after being hit by car in Landover, police investigate

The Northbound and southbound lanes between 56th Avenue and Annapolis Road are closed as Prince George’s County Police investigate.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — The Northbound and southbound lanes between 56th Avenue and Annapolis Road are closed as Prince George’s County Police investigate a pedestrian who died after he was hit by a car.

At 7:30 p.m. officers arrived at the intersection of 55th Avenue and Landover Road. When they arrived they found a man lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver who struck the pedestrian stayed on the scene to talk to the police. Investigators are attempting to determine what caused the driver to hit the pedestrian.
