GERMANTOWN, Md. — A 16-year-old Clarksburg boy is facing attempted murder charges after police say he fired a gun into a home in Germantown last week.
The shooting happened on Thursday in the 20700 block of Crystal Hill Circle, the Montgomery County Department of Police said.
No one was injured in the shooting, but the residents called police to report hearing gunfire and discovered bullet holes inside of the home.
During the investigation, police identified 16-year-old Lekota Martin, Jr. as the suspect. Despite his age, WUSA9 is identifying the boy because he's being charged as an adult.
Police say Martin, Jr. is also alleged to have been in possession of a loaded Polymer80 privately manufactured firearm (commonly called a ghost gun) with an extended magazine inside of a Montgomery County school.
Martin, Jr. was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, possession of a loaded handgun, and other weapons-related charges.
He is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
No other details have been released.
