MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — One person has died following a house fire in Montgomery County Monday evening.
According to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County (MD) Fire & Rescue Service Pete Piringer, the fire happened on Anchorage Drive around 7:30 p.m.
When crews arrived to extinguish the fire, they learned one person was trapped inside the home. That person, an unidentified 87-year-old man, was quickly pulled from the home and taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
The wind-driven fire was eventually brought under control. Firefighters are working to determine what caused the fire.
