CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — The search continues for 25-year-old Jamell Leeheung II., a veteran, husband and father of two.
Leeheung has been missing since Saturday, November 25, despite his car being found about 400 yards from the Slavin's Dock ramp.
Jamell’s father, Jamell Leeheung Sr., tells WUSA9, his son was out with friends that Saturday night and never returned home.
“I'm hurt, he has a junior. The third. Looks up to him. He has six sisters and they all love him. He wouldn’t leave his sisters,” the elder Leeheung said.
WUSA's Sky9 captured crews searching Thursday morning.
Both the Charles County Sheriff's Office and The Naval Criminal Investigation Service have searched for Jamell since Monday.
His family said Jamell was last seen near the Indian Head Naval Base’s gate, at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
The Charles County Dive Team found his vehicle Monday, but Jamell's father said the car was severely damaged and they have more questions than answers.
“It was totally damaged and it was bad. And it’s not damage from the water. It was damaged before it went in there,” he said.
Jamell is a veteran with a disability who lives at the Naval base with his wife and two children. He was currently in school getting his bachelors.
His father said his disappearance is strange.
“Just, what happened at the place he was at? Was he talking to anyone there? Did anyone follow him from there? Did he have a disagreement there with someone? all that.. what was his state when he left there?” Leeheung said.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office said crews are waiting for a special searching device to continue their search efforts.
Crews are expected to resume the search Sunday.
