Man and woman arrested for kidnapping and robbery in DC

The woman, now identified as 27-year-old Antionette Camille Gilmore, and the victim were roommates according to police reports.

WASHINGTON — A man and woman are in custody for kidnapping, robbing, and assaulting someone in D.C.

On October 12, the victim and the woman got into a heated argument over the phone. The woman, now identified as 27-year-old Antionette Camille Gilmore, and the victim were roommates according to police reports.

During the verbal dispute, Gilmore reportedly told the victim “I’m going to pick you up so you can get your stuff out of my place.”

Police say Gilmore arrived at 10th and Constitution Avenue around noon. The victim got in the back seat of the car, behind Gilmore. Upon entering the car, the victim saw another man also sitting in the backseat. It is unknown if the victim knew the man as well.

As Gilmore began driving away, the second man allegedly grabbed the victim by his neck and began punching him in the face. Clearly a set-up, Gilmore reportedly yelled out “Take all that n****’s stuff” The second man proceeded to take the victim’s property, police say.

While Gilmore reportedly continued to drive aimlessly around the District the victim was in the backseat fighting back. When the car reached Pennsylvania and Minnesota Avenue, the victim elbowed the second man, allowing him to break free from the headlock he was in, and jump out of the car, according to the police report.

His brisk taste of freedom was cut brutally short after he tripped over a fence, allowing the second man to catch him and reportedly drag him back into the car.

As the car approached the Sixth District Police Station, the victim fought his attacker once again and managed to escape. With a head start, the victim mustered up all his energy, got his footing right, and raced all the way to the police station.

The second man chased the victim into the station where he was arrested and charged with kidnapping, robbery, and assault. Police say Gilmore fled the scene in her car.

On Wednesday, members of D.C.’s Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force announced her arrest. Gilmore is now being charged with kidnapping and robbery.
