DC Police search for the person that shot a teen in Northeast

According to reports, the victim was conscious and breathing when he arrived at the hospital. However, his current condition is unknown.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a shooting that left a teen injured in Northeast D.C. Wednesday night. 

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, at 9:45 p.m., reports of a shooting came in to the police department. Officers responded to the scene on 49th Street, NE and found a young man lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon further investigation, it was determined the shooting victim was a teenager. 

First responders then took the victim to an area hospital. According to reports, the victim was conscious and breathing when he arrived at the hospital. However, his current condition is unknown at this time. 

Investigators have not mentioned having any knowledge of any potential suspect(s) nor a motive in this shooting.

The police department is offering a reward of $1,000 to anyone that provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this shooting.
