WASHINGTON — D.C. Police are searching for three men in connection to a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon.

A man walked himself into an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was quickly treated by hospital staff. The victim’s current condition and identity is unknown.

D.C. Hospital protocol states that any patient suffering from a gunshot wound whether self-inflicted, accidental, or having occurred during a crime, must be reported to local law enforcement.

When officers arrived at the hospital, the victim told them that he was shot at 23rd and Savannah Street in Southeast just before 2:45 p.m.

Unfortunately, the victim wasn’t able to give a description of the men that shot him. All he was able to give police was the number of men that were present during the shooting.

Police will now review any surveillance footage in the area to try and pinpoint the shooters. For that reason, police have not released any information on the lookout for the suspects.

D.C. Police are now asking the community for their help. If you have information regarding the moments leading up to the shooting or if you know the suspects involved, you are asked to contact the police. Any information that could lead to an arrest is helpful. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
