Man seriously injured in Prince George's Co. shooting; DC Police detain driver involved

The man was taken to an area hospital for help with critical, life-threatening injuries.

OXON HILL, Md. — A man was rushed to an area hospital on Thursday with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in Prince George's County.

At 9:05 p.m., a call regarding the shooting in the 7400 block of Livingston Road came into the police department. At the scene, officers found a man outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

There is no word on what led up to the shooting, but officers with the Metropolitan Police Department helped with the detainment for the driver of the felony vehicle involved at 11:45 p.m. They say the vehicle, a Ford Taurus, was stopped at South Capitol Street and Firth Sterling Avenue Southeast.

No additional information has been released about the detained individual involved in the shooting.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
