Reward offered for gunman wanted in Makiyah Wilson's death

U.S. Marshals are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the capture of Isaiah Murchison.

WASHINGTON -- Officials are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of a gunman involved in 10-year-old Makiyah Wilson's death.

Isaiah Murchison is one of 11 people indicted in the murder of Makiyah Wilson, who was killed while trying to buy ice cream in her Northeast D.C. neighborhood. Murchison is believed to be one of the gunmen who opened fire and a known member of the Wellington Park Crew, U.S. Marshals say.

More than 100 people marched in her honor in the city's Clay Terrace neighborhood in May of this year on what would have been her birthday.

Her mother, Donnetta, pleaded for an end to street violence.

"Stop the violence," she said. "Please stop the violence."

Makiyah's father, Michael, said he's confident the community supporting his family will be able to make a change.

"We are the leaders of the city right here," he said. "We got to step up and speak out."
