WASHINGTON — Two people were pulled from the water at The Wharf early Friday morning.
DC Fire and EMS posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that a man and a woman were removed from the water in Southwest, D.C. Rescue swimmers from DC Fire & EMS were part of the retrieval mission. The man and woman were taken by fire and police boats to Transit Pier.
The woman lost her balance and fell into the water, and the man immediately jumped in after her to assist, according to D.C. Police. Both people were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment, and were in stable condition at the time.
