WASHINGTON — A man is dead after he was stabbed multiple times in Northwest D.C. early Tuesday morning, D.C. Police said.
Police said a 9-1-1 call from a witness reporting a stabbing came in around 2:20 a.m. Officers in MPD's 4th District immediately responded to the 3500 block of Center Street near Ogden Street where they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the 4th District Watch Commander.
Police said they have no information on possible suspects at this time.
There were a total of 161 homicides in D.C. in 2020, according to MPD's crime statistics recorded on their website. Over the weekend, the District reached the tragic milestone of 180 homicides recorded so far in 2021 -- an increase of 12% from last year.
Monday night MPD officials confirmed a woman was shot and killed in the 4900 block of G Street Southeast and this latest fatal stabbing brings the total to 182.
