Police: Woman killed in double shooting in Southeast DC

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of G Street, police say.

WASHINGTON — A woman is dead and a man was shot in an apparent double shooting in Southeast D.C. Monday night, according to Metropolitan Police Department Public Information Officer Hickman.

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of G Street.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a woman shot. Hickman said police noticed the woman was not conscious and not breathing. A man was also found shot, but he was conscious and breathing.

Hickman said the man and the woman were transported to the hospital for treatment. The woman was later pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate the circumstances.

At this time, there is no information on a possible suspect or suspects.

Parts of G Street was closed off due to the homicide investigation but it has since reopened.
