Man arrested in Virginia Beach for stabbing DC man to death in 2022

WASHINGTON — A man is facing murder charges after police connected him to a deadly stabbing in Northeast D.C. 

Rashawn Phifer, 20, was stabbed to death on Nov. 11, 2022. 

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called just before 5:30 p.m. to the 500 block of Riggs Road, Northeast for reports of a stabbing.

When help arrived, officers found Phifer suffering from stab wounds. He died at the scene. 

On Friday, officials announced the arrest of 21-year-old Christian Wilkerson, of Northwest, D.C., in connection to Phifer's death. 

Wilkerson was located in Virginia Beach by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. He has since been charged with second-degree murder while armed and will be extradited to D.C.
