WASHINGTON — Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 500 block of Riggs Road NE Friday evening for a report of a stabbing.
At the scene, officers located a man stabbed. They confirmed Saturday that the man is 20-year-old Rashawn Phifer and that he has since died.
First responders found the man unconscious and said he was not breathing when taken to an area hospital.
The location of the stabbing was near the Riggs LaSalle Recreation Center.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
