Police say teen had 'intent to murder' in Southeast DC shooting

The teenager was arrested a month after the shooting.

WASHINGTON — A teenager is under arrest in connection to a shooting that occurred in January in Southeast, D.C.

On Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 8:47 a.m., detectives say the suspect shot at the victim in the 1000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The bullet did not hit the victim and the suspect fled the scene. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.

A month later, on Friday, Feb. 2, detectives arrested a 16-year-old boy of Southeast, D.C. in connection to the shooting. He is charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Receiving Stolen Property.

The investigation into this shooting is active and ongoing.
