WASHINGTON — A D.C. man is facing charges in connection to a murder that happened in October.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue, Northeast just before 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 16.
When officers arrived to the ZIPS Cleaners located there, they found 28-year-old Davon Fuller, of Northwest, D.C., suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital for help but later died from his wounds.
More than two months later, police arrested 28-year-old Deandre Miles on Wednesday in connection to Fuller's death. He turned himself in to police and was charged with premeditated first-degree murder while armed.
Councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau released a statement following her discovery of Fuller's death. Fuller worked as a constituent services coordinator in Nadeau's office in 2018 and 2019.
The Ward 1 councilmember spoke highly of Fuller's work ethic and community impact.
"Davon grew up in Ward 1, was well-loved in our community, and worked incredibly hard in our office. He was a proud and caring father of two young children. His murder is a tragic loss and I sincerely hope there is justice for him." said Nadeau.
