WASHINGTON — Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Northeast D.C. on Monday. The victim in this shooting has been identified as 28-year-old Davon Fuller, of Northwest, D.C.
At 1:42 p.m. officers responded to the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue, Northeast for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was rushed to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead due to his injuries.
On Wednesday Councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau released a statement following her discovery of Fuller's death. Fuller worked as a constituent services coordinator in Nadeau's office in 2018 and 2019.
The Ward 1 councilmember spoke highly of Fuller's work ethic and community impact.
"Davon grew up in Ward 1, was well-loved in our community, and worked incredibly hard in our office. He was a proud and caring father of two young children. His murder is a tragic loss and I sincerely hope there is justice for him." said Nadeau.
Police have not identified any suspects or persons of interest in this shooting. The investigation is active and ongoing.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s text tip line by sending a text message to 50411.
