WASHINGTON — Investigators say a malfunctioning solar panel is to blame for a building fire in Georgetown on Thursday.
Just before 7 p.m., DC Fire and EMS responded to a working fire in the 3000 block of Cambridge Place, NW. Firefighters at the scene noticed fire coming from the attic and roof of the three-story home. They were able to put out the flames without the fire catching to attached, adjacent homes.
No one was injured as a result of the flames.
Investigators have determined the cause of the fire to be due to a malfunction of a solar panel.
There is no word on any displacements at this time.
